Ocean City’s 2nd Annual “Earlier than the Bird” Shopping Day proved to be a ton of fun as shoppers came out in the early morning hours to snatch up the bargains – the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Shoppers were truly out earlier than the bird, hitting the Asbury Avenue streets by 7am. The event kicks off the holiday shopping season and helps shoppers come out in a relaxed atmosphere – even in their pajamas – to enjoy the season before the Thanksgiving turkey day.
The theme was to not be a turkey and get out and gobble up the savings earlier than the bird. The Downtown gave away 30 turkeys to shoppers deemed to have the best pajamas. Many who enjoyed the event were return shoppers from last year and the new attendees enjoyed the fun, festive atmosphere plus free coffee and giveaways.
The weekend also kicked off the free weekend events in Downtown Ocean City, including free horse and carriage rides, free children’s rides, breakfast’s with Santa along with free face painting, balloon sculptures and more.
