Seeking Tree with Tremendous Christmas Spirit

Seeking Tree with Tremendous Christmas Spirit

By Press Release

The saying is, it’s not what’s under your tree but who’s around it – and this year, it could be thousands of people! Congress Hall in Cape May is searching for its Christmas tree this year, which serves as the centerpiece for their annual Winter Wonderland. Since 2011, a tree has been donated for the tree lighting ceremony on the Grand Lawn; last year’s tree was a 30-foot Blue Spruce which was donated by a North Cape May family. Now, a new tree is needed to the star and the hunt is on for a tree that will be lovingly decorated and admired for the whole season!
Those interested in donating a tree should fill out the online form by Oct. 17, 2018. The tree must be a minimum of 25 feet tall, mostly straight, and with a single main trunk to be considered. The Congress Hall team will visit viable contenders to see which one will be selected as this year’s tree. The tree must come from the state of New Jersey.
The family who donates the tree will be guests of honor with an overnight stay for four at Congress Hall, dinner at the Blue Pig Tavern, plus preferred seating at the Holiday concert on Friday, Nov. 30. They will also have the honor of “flipping the switch” at the official tree lighting ceremony after the concert.
Those interested in having their tree selected as the 2018 Congress Hall Christmas Tree can submit their entry by visiting tree.congresshall.com.
