Mobile screening franchise urges homeowners to protect against Zika virus
CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – With the demand for local screening increasing year-by-year in Southern New Jersey, Screenmobile of Cape-Atlantic is celebrating their fifth anniversary by adding to the family business. In order to keep up with their steady growth, local owners TJ and Holly Repici have announced the hiring of their son, Tyler, to the mobile screening franchise.
After studying at Marina Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Tyler returned to the family business initially helping TJ part-time in the field. Now, with Tyler functioning as a full-time technician, the local franchise is able to expand its services to more homeowners throughout Cape May and Atlantic Counties. Screenmobile has established itself as the most reputable mobile screening franchise in the U.S., specializing in repair, replacement and installation of screen doors, windows and porches.
“Adding Tyler to the team expands our ability to keep up with the high seasonal demands in screening. We’ve seen a significant increase in business over the last year and have added to our wide range of products for our customers,” said TJ Repici, Owner of Screenmobile of Cape-Atlantic. “The peak summer months trigger a major increase of mosquitoes and infections in New Jersey, and with Tyler on the team, we will now be able to protect more homeowners with proper screening.”
Mosquito concerns have been top of mind this year in particular, as the CDC recently announced several U.S. states are a potential risk zone for the Zika virus this summer. The Aedes Aegypti mosquito, a common carrier of the disease, lives and breeds in New Jersey, and experts recommend the repair and replacement of screens as a key measure for proper protection. Those with Zika virus are also at a higher risk for Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), a disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks its nerves.
Scott Walker, CEO of Screenmobile, is survivor of GBS and is urging all homeowners to take precaution from mosquitos and the debilitating diseases they carry. “There are three lines of defense against an infection: education, awareness and of course, screening. We encourage every homeowner and their families to take the appropriate measures in order lower their risk of these viruses,” said Walker.
