Scouts Plan Beach Jam Near Morey’s Piers

By Herald Staff

WILDWOOD — Scouts from all over the Northeast will return for the Fall Beach Jam at Morey’s Piers Sept. 26-27, according to a release.
Unlike the Spring Beach Jam, this event is a Fall Harvest, complete with hayrides and autumn decorations.
Scouts will camp on the beach adjacent to Mariner’s Landing Pier on Schellenger Avenue. The weekend will include:
Unlimited admission to rides on Mariner’s Landing Pier, beach bonfire, hayrides and sing-along, dolphin watching boat rides.
Also, Boardwalk tramcar rides, catered meals, Live entertainment
“The two beach jams combine the best of scouting with the best of Morey’s Piers and the Wildwoods,” said Jack Morey, executive vice president of Morey’s Piers.
The event offers scouts the opportunity to earn merit badge in aviation and oceanography. Morey’s Piers has teamed with the Naval Air Station Wildwood aviation museum for a series of workshops on Saturday, and with the Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor Manor, Morey’s Piers is offering a series of workshops in oceanography on Sunday.
A “meet and greet” other scouts will take place at the official SWAP Headquarters at the Parents’ Pavilion on Mariner’s Landing Pier next to the Balloon Race ride.
Scouts can log hours – and earn a pin – to Good Turn for America by bringing in canned foods for the United Way’s food drive.
Admission ranges from $31 a person for a package that does not include meals or rides to $55 for rides, dinner and breakfast.
