ATLANTIC CITY – On Thursday, March 30, area small business owners and entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from several of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s top New Jersey lenders to discuss the availability of SBA-backed loans for their businesses or new ventures.
The free “Meet the Lenders” conference is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Richard Stockton University Small Business Development Center located at 35 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Room 211, Atlantic City.
The conference is hosted by the by the SBA and the Richard Stockton University Small Business Development Center, with the idea of introducing established small business owners and advanced entrepreneurs to meet with SBA lenders to discuss their capital needs.
“We are looking for small business owners and entrepreneurs from Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties who are either looking for capital to expand or start their small businesses,” said SBA New Jersey District Director Al Titone. “During the past five months of fiscal year 2017, the SBA has approved 21 loans for $7.8 million in Atlantic County; 21 loans for 9.9 million in Cape May County; and five loans for $4 million in Cumberland County. We like to think there is always the capacity to do more in this region of the state. The ‘Meet the Lenders’ program has been successful in matching local small business owners with SBA lenders and is the perfect opportunity and setting to discuss financing options with active SBA lenders.”
In addition to meeting individually with SBA lenders, participants will learn firsthand what lenders look for in a winning loan proposal, as well as learning all about the variety of SBA lending programs available to them. Business owners and entrepreneurs will also have access to business counselors from the Richard Stockton University Small Business Development Center, who can assist with and review a small firm’s business plan.
All participants should be prepared to bring multiple copies of their Business Plan Executive Summary with them to the event. While there is no fee to attend the “Meet the Lenders” conference, registration is required.
