WEST CAPE MAY — Dylan K. Rutherford, owner of L. B. Bread Company in West Cape May and Culinary Student at Cape May Technical High School was awarded the Silver Plate Award by the New Jersey Restaurant Association May 18.
Rutherford was honored, along with six other high school seniors from culinary programs across New Jersey, for his commitment to his industry and passion for the culinary field.
In addition to the award, Dylan was presented with an engraved Silver Plate, a $500 scholarship, a personalized chefs coat and a Joint Legislative Resolution by Sen. Jeff Van Drew and Assemblymen Nelson Albano and Matthew Milam.
The award was presented at the headquarters for the New Jersey Restaurant Association in Trenton, by NJRA president Deborah Dowdell and Former Chairman Daniel Cannizzo.
Rutherford will graduate from Cape May Technical High School and attend college at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.
