COURT HOUSE – Are you interested in increasing your farm’s profits? Rutgers Cooperative Extension is offering a full-day seminar. Speakers will cover Integrated Pest Management, crop insurance, cultural controls, writing a production plan and farm business finances. A tour of the Rutgers EcoComplex greenhouses will give participants a behind the scenes view of orchids, living walls and a greenhouse basil operation.
Business planning and production techniques are two of the most important and useful activities involved in farm business planning. Not only is this process a key to success in helping to understand and articulate what the farm enterprise will look like, it is also important in building a farm plan that is economically sustainable. By the end of the conference participants will have a draft of their production plan, a key component of their business plan.
The class will be held at the Rutgers EcoComplex, 1200 Florence-Columbus Rd., Bordentown, NJ 08505-4200. To sign up please go to http://anniesprojectproduction.eventbrite.com . The cost of the full day conference is $25 and lunch will be provided. Please contact Jenny Carleo (Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County) at 609-465-5115 for more details.
