COURT HOUSE – Representatives of the Ruth Newman Shapiro (RNS) Cancer and Heart Fund presented representatives of AtlantiCare with $74,000 Nov. 7. It was the ninth installment of a $740,000 pledge toward AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Mobile Digital Mammography Van.
The ARMC RNS Mobile Digital Mammography Van is equipped with computer aided detection (CAD) software. This advanced technology adds to the speed, efficiency and accuracy of mammograms.
RNS leadership collaborated with AtlantiCare’s Cancer Care Team in designing the van, which offers women more comfort and amenities. These include more spacious dressing rooms. AtlantiCare began offering screening mammograms on the new van in July, 2007.
