Ragnos Are New Bull & Bear Tavern Owners

By Herald Staff

WOODBINE — A local couple that’s been serving great food to people in this county and beyond for years has taken over the operation at a popular Woodbine tavern.
Jimmy and Michelle Ragno, of Court House, are the new owners of the Bull & Bear Tavern, 1557 Route 550 DeHirsch Ave., just off the intersection of Routes 610 and 550 next to Campark Liquors. It’s located just minutes from Sea Isle, Dennis, Upper and Middle Townships.
If you have dined out in Cape May County anytime in recent memory, chances are you’ve tasted some of Jimmy’s delicious dishes and been served by Michelle and her smiling face. They have worked in some of the area’s best restaurants including: the former Tavern on the Greens at Avalon Golf Club, the Bellevue Tavern, Court House; the Harbor Pub, Stone Harbor, and Jay’s on Third, Stone Harbor.
The Bull & Bear menu is a compilation of some of Jimmy’s best dishes. His appetizers, specialty sandwiches and dinner entrees have gotten rave reviews since the Bull & Bear reopened in March and his Clams Casino soup is literally to die for.
“The menu here includes some classic tavern items as well as some new fun food ideas. Our guests know if I have the ingredients in the kitchen I will make their favorites even if they don’t see it on the menu,” Jimmy said.
In addition to their new, friendly experienced staff, Jimmy and Michelle welcome back Kirk Peterson who spent the last 10 years in the famed Las Vegas strip, and John Bebler who dedicated 25 years of service at Russo’s in Wildwood .
At the bar, the beer is cold and all drinks are priced reasonably. And for those who’ve visited the Bull & Bear before, don’t worry Jimmy and Michelle brought back everyone’s favorite bartender, Karen.
In addition to sports on the bar’s large flat screen TVs, the Bull & Bear will be featuring regular live entertainment. And as the weather gets warmer look for the outside patio bar to open where more entertainment is scheduled.
The Bull & Bear is open seven nights a week — Monday through Thursday at 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 11:30 a.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m.
