SEA ISLE CITY – The members of Sea Isle City’s Garden Club hosted their annual Flower Sale fundraiser on May 14 and 15 at the resort’s Dealy Field Recreation Complex, where hundreds of shoppers purchased blooming annuals, hearty perennials, potting soil and other items that will beautify gardens all over town. Proceeds from the yearly Flower Sale benefit the Garden Club’s Scholarship Program and several charities, including a local food bank and other organizations that help people in need.
“We always offer a wonderful variety of plants during the Flower Sale,” said event co-organizer Donna Hadfield. “After a long winter, people look forward to buying flowers because there’s nothing like a colorful garden. But, most importantly, the money we raise helps us help others.”
“In addition to selling beautiful plants, we also offer gardening advice during the Flower Sale,” said event co-organizer Kathy Wilson. “The sale is a great way to raise money to help those in need, and along the way we also help beatify people’s homes – so it’s a win-win.”
