WILDWOOD — Come on in! The water’s fine, if you are a Polar Bear Plunger.
Despite the freezing temperatures of January, plungers will take a dip into the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean for the 4th Annual Wildwoods’ Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics.
The beach by the Convention Center at 1 p.m. on Jan. 16 is expected to be as full as bathers an afternoon in summer. Spectators can watch the event for free, but participants must raise $100 in pledges.
The plunge is a family friendly event benefiting more than 18,000 athletes of the Special Olympics New Jersey.
For the fourth consecutive year, the New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run is sponsoring the Wildwoods’ Polar Bear Plunge. The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey is comprised of Law Enforcement officers who volunteer and are dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics.
Early registration can be done online by visiting www.sonj.org. Anyone who registers be-fore midnight on Jan. 13 will receive a free Polar Bear Plunge hat, in addition to a Polar Bear Plunge hooded sweatshirt. Additional registration and donations will be accepted on-site the day of the event. Check-in the day of the event is from 10 a.m. till noon.
West Cape May – The amount of TV shows airing is getting out of hand. Less movies are being produced today than ever before. Instead, people are glued to watching shows that most people never heard of.
