‘Perfect’ Traffic Storm?

By Al Campbell

COURT HOUSE — As of 1:20 p.m. Aug. 10, an accident in the southbound lane near milepost 10 of the Garden State Parkway had that lane closed to traffic.
That meant traffic, heavy due to a Friday afternoon in the summer, was even more congested than normal.
Those who thought they would avoid delays and take Route 9 found that highway, too, backed up.
Local police dispatchers were advising their units and rescue units to avoid the parkway due to the backup.
