Parish Nurse Program Sponsors “Paint the Park Pink” Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, October 4th

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Parish Nurse Program at Cape Regional invites the public to participate in the Sixth Annual “Paint the Park Pink” Breast Cancer Walk at the Cape May County Park and Zoo on Sunday, October 4, 2015; registration opens at 1:30 pm and the walk begins at 2:00 pm.
“Paint the Park Pink” will celebrate survivors of breast cancer and their families, support those going through treatment, and honor those who have succumbed to this illness. All participants are invited to meet at Shelter #1, Cape May County Park and Zoo, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
“Over the past five years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Health Awareness Program at Cape Regional Health System has directly educated thousands of Cape May County women on breast health by talks and presentations to faith communities and women’s organizations,” stated Gloria Schultz, Program Navigator. “With the help of the Susan G. Komen Grant, the Parish Nurse Program has assisted hundreds of women obtain mammograms; most of these women had not had a mammogram in two years or more and some, never.”
The “Paint the Park Pink” Breast Cancer Walk is sponsored by Cape Regional’s Parish Nurse Program which, among many community services, provides breast health awareness talks and mammograms for the women in Cape May County. This year’s goal is to raise $1,200, with proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Central and South Jersey.
