MAYS LANDING—OceanFirst Bank, headquartered in Toms River, recently donated $10,000 to the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation to support the college’s 34th annual Restaurant Gala, which will be held March 23 at Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center. Since 1984, the gala has raised $3 million with proceeds benefiting student scholarships at the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College and Atlantic Cape Foundation operations.
Steven Brady, vice chairman of OceanFirst Bank, presented a check to Dr. Barbara Gaba, president of Atlantic Cape Community College, at Ocean City Home Bank, a division of OceanFirst Bank, in Ocean City. Brady, of Marmora, was named the Community Honoree for this year’s gala where he will be honored. Brady has been a long-time supporter of the college; and as the former CEO and president of Ocean City Home Bank, he was instrumental in establishing an endowed scholarship fund at Atlantic Cape through a gift to the Create Opportunity Campaign.
“Steven Brady is bringing the same enthusiasm for education to his new role with OceanFirst and has encouraged continued support for the college,” said Maria Kellett, senior director of Resource Development and Community & Alumni Outreach at Atlantic Cape.
OceanFirst has also committed $50,000 to the college for scholarships that will be awarded to incoming freshmen, who reside in Atlantic or Cape May County, for the fall 2017 semester. Fifty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
