OCEAN CITY – Young people in need received the gift of warmth this winter, thanks to the employees and customers of Ocean City Home Bank. The bank participated in a coat drive for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May County, which was organized and promoted by Townsquare Media’s Lite Rock 96.9 FM. The bank collected coats, hats, scarves and gloves at each of its 11 branches throughout Atlantic and Cape May County, and together, bank employees and customers donated over 400 items to help area residents withstand freezing temperatures.
“Winter weather is harsh enough when we’re properly dressed for it, but imagine how brutal it is for those without coats or hats,” said Steve Brady, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ocean City Home Bank. “We were pleased to take part in this worthwhile effort, and we hope the items we collected made a real difference to many local families this winter.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, providing children with strong, enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships. Partnering with parents/guardians, schools, corporations and others in the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully pairs children (“Littles”) with screened volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) and monitors and supports them in one-to-one mentoring matches throughout their course.
