By Herald Staff

COURT HOUSE — Registered Nurse Cheryl Conlin is the Service Excellence of the Month recipient for November 2009.
Conlin has been a member of the Cape Regional Medical Center team since April 1987, according to a release. She served as a Unit Clerk on the 3 East Patient Care Unit until 1996 at which time she graduated from Cumberland County College’s Nursing Program and received her licensure as a registered nurse. She currently serves as a Staff Nurse on the 2 East Patient Care Unit.
Conlin was nominated for the Service Excellence Award by Robert Conn, 2 East nurse aide, who stated, “Cheryl is one of the kindest, hardworking, and caring nurses I know. She will bend over backwards to make sure that the needs of every patient, as well as the needs of the patient’s family, and fellow staff members are taken care of first, last, and always.”
Conlin and husband Tim Conlin have been for married seven years, and they share their Town Bank home with their dog, Rocky. Together, they have four children: Keith, Melissa, Melissa and Tim.
The couple enjoys riding their Harley Davidson Road King, spending time with family, reading, country and rock ‘n roll music, and traveling to the tropics.
Conlin, surrounded by colleagues, accepted the honor from the Service Excellence Committee.
Deborah Baehser, vice president of Patient Care Services, presented her with the Service Excellence of the Month pin, $100 Visa Gift Card, a Cape Regional Medical Center duffel bag and beach towel and a three month membership to the Fit for Life Fitness Center at the Medical Center.
“Am I dreaming?” exclaimed Conlin. “I cannot believe this is happening to me!”
“We are here to honor you today, Cheryl,” stated Baehser. “Your nominator states that you are one of the kindest, hardworking, and caring nurses, he knows. We are so proud of you.”
