Mayor Patrick Rosenello announced Sept. 9 that North Wildwood will be receiving a $35,485 grant from the New Jersey Department of Homeland Security.
The city was awarded the 2018 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG), which will allow the fire department to purchase 46 sets of personal safety and rescue bailout systems. The 46 systems will be for all current career, part-time and interior structural volunteer firefighters, and will include training for all members.
The grant will assist the city in assuring the safety of its firefighters with up to date equipment and training.
“I would like to personally thank the New Jersey Department of Homeland Security for their acceptance of our grant application for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant,” stated Mayor Rosenello. “This grant will help ensure that our firefighters are well equipped and trained to help our residents and homeowners.”
