CAPE MAY – New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher stopped at Congress Hall’s Blue Pig Tavern Thursday as part of his two-day “Jersey Fresh Love Tour.” Secretary Fisher will be making stops at farms, farmers markets, restaurants, wineries and breweries, highlighting the peak of Jersey Fresh season in the Garden State. Visiting the Blue Pig Tavern was a natural fit, given the restaurant’s dedication to serving produce picked fresh from Cape Resorts’ own Beach Plum Farm.
“They really are the epitome of a local movement,” said Secretary Fisher about Blue Pig Tavern and Cape Resorts. “They grow all of this produce on their own farm resulting in this fabulous product, and then they use that product within their own organization in all their restaurants. So, from a business perspective, we’re thrilled to see Blue Pig Tavern thrive and from the consumer standpoint, we know how much people appreciate Jersey Fresh.”
Beach Plum Farm is a 62 acre farm with more than 100 varieties of fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers that are grown and harvested for Cape Resorts’ Restaurants. Guests can be sure that while dining at the Blue Pig Tavern, The Ebbitt Room, and The Rusty Nail, they’re enjoying produce that is hand-picked and farm-fresh. Cape Resorts’ chefs develop daily menu specials around the freshest ingredients because summer really is sweet at the farm! Beach Plum’s summer harvests yield up to more than 10,000 pounds of tomatoes and more than 2,000 pounds of strawberries! Those are just a few of the many wonderful things you can pick up at The Beach Plum Farm Stand.
Villas – I guess Kamala Harris was just too honest, too intelligent and too sane of a person to win an election in a racist, sexist, backward country like America.
