New construction yearly rentals are now available to qualified households for the affordable rental price starting at $950 per month. Qualified Sandy-impacted applicants will be given priority.
The State of New Jersey had requested Peachtree Management Company, Inc., in business since 1998, to participate in a program to provide new construction affordable rental housing. These housing units are now nearing completion. The program is geared to those with family income levels of approximately $35,000 to $80,000 based upon family size (conditions may apply.) The program is a way for the State of New Jersey to assist those damaged by Super Storm Sandy while helping to improve the neighborhood through development and jobs. In excess of 58 workers of all trades were employed on this job.
Typical qualifying families may include governmental workers to middle manager level employees. The butcher, baker and candlestick maker are now the policeman, fireman and school teacher. The program has allowed for subsequent family income growth once a tenant is selected. This feature of the program makes it appealing to the young and those just starting out.
The new construction consists of three and four bedroom 2 ½ bath units. These units address the handicap accessibility to the AIA standards as listed in the program under section 504. Each unit will have Energy Star features. The units of approximately 1,500 square feet have all of the amenities found in high end new construction with an eye towards energy conservation. The properties are located across from Maxwell Field in Wildwood, New Jersey and have water views. The units are scheduled to be completed within the month.
