ERMA — Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum (NASW) recently received a grant to support the construction of a new exhibit featuring “Aviation Art.”
The display will feature photos, squadron logos, paintings and prints. Through these works, visitors to the museum will be taken on a journey enabling them to witness firsthand the “Golden Age of Aviation.”
The museum boasts over 26 aircraft displays as well as exhibits of military memorabilia, engines, photographs, interactive exhibits that allow visitors to discover the science of flight and more.
Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday rain or shine. Don’t forget to bring a camera.
Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum is located in Historic Hangar No. 1 at the Cape May County Airport in Lower Township. It was formerly Naval Air Station Wildwood, which served as a World War II dive-bomber training center.
The museum is dedicated to the 42 airmen who perished while training at Naval Air Station Wildwood between 1943 and 1945.
