Middle GOP Moves to New Leadership in 2016

By Press Release

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Middle Township Regular Republican Organization accepted the resignations of Leader Ed Taylor and Deputy Leader Pat Taylor at the party’s monthly meeting on Feb. 2. Deputy leader Joe Fulford will serve as Acting Leader going forward. A new Leader will be chosen to fill a four year term after the June primary.
“I want to publicly thank the Taylors for their past service,” County GOP Chair Marcus Karavan said. “I look forward to the Middle GOP moving ahead with renewed energy and firmer unity into this all-important 2016 election cycle.”
The new leadership’s first priority will be to fill all 36 County Committee seats in the coming June Primary. Middle Township Committeeman and Cape GOP County Vice-Chair Tim Donohue will spearhead this effort.
“Our goal is to have all 18 Middle Township voting district represented by active and involved County Committee members who share our goals and understand the effort required to foster a vibrant, grass roots organization. Candidates should be committed to spreading our message, growing our local party and winning elections.”
Karavan said these changes will help the Middle GOP remain a potent political force to be reckoned with in years to come.
“After decades as an afterthought in Middle Township, our organization has made historic strides in the past nine years,” Karavan said. “Middle Township voters elected the first GOP Township Committeemen in close to 50 years and after over 70 years without a Republican Mayor; we have seen both Dan Lockwood and Tim Donohue serve as outstanding Mayors in the past five years. The new leadership is committed to building on this foundation of success and continuing to run strong candidates dedicated to our vision of lower taxes and more open and responsive government in our Middle Township.”
The Middle GOP meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Old County Court House on Rt. 9 in Cape May Court House. All Middle Township Republicans are invited to attend. Any Middle Township Republican interested in serving on the County Committee can get more information by emailing donohueformiddle@gmail.com.
