Middle Donates Lot to Habitat

By Joe Hart

COURT HOUSE — Middle Township Monday, Aug. 17 continued its long partnership with a local organization that provides homes to families in need.
Township Committee agreed to donate (actually sell for $1) a parcel of land at 511 Langston St., Whitesboro to the county chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
The non-profit group works with volunteers and “partner families” who provide “sweat equity” to construct their homes.
The parcel, assessed at $76,000, is one of many the township has donated over the years.
Township officials are unsure whether the new home constructed on the lot will count towards Middle Township’s Coalition on Affordable Housing (COAH) obligation.
