Middle Chamber to Honor 2016 ‘Business Person of the Year’

By Press Release

The Middle Township Chamber of Commerce has chosen Bob Smeltzer of Smeltzer & Sons Feed & Pet Supply as the 2016 recipient of its most prestigious honor, “Business Person of the Year.” The announcement was made by Chamber President, Carol Sawyer, and Bob will be honored at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner on April 15 at “The Links Club” of the Stone Harbor Golf Club. Recipients are recognized for their successes not only in business but for their contributions to the public and the business community.
Bob Smeltzer has owned and operated his business in Middle Township since 1990. Bob attributes much of his success to the love and support he has from his family and the community. He has donated countless hours and leadership skills to the community serving as Past President of Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, Past President of Kiwanis Club of Cape May and Chairman of Zoning Board of Adjustment in Lower Township for 10 years. In addition, his business has donated landscaping materials and mulch to Crest Haven Nursing Home Renovation Project and Cape May Eagle Scout improvement projects throughout Cape May County. His generosity to individual schools, churches and sports teams and support for Emergency Evacuation Mobile Pet Shelters has made a tremendous impact on their fundraising efforts.
“Middle Township is a better place due to the leadership and contributions made by Bob Smelter. He is fine example of an outstanding business person and upstanding citizen,” Sawyer said.
