Medical Explorers at Cape Regional – Exploring Careers in Healthcare

COURT HOUSE — For over 25 years, Cape Regional Medical Center has hosted the Medical Explorer’s Program on the first and third Tues. of each month from Oct. through April. The program is designed to provide real-world, hands-on career experiences to the students in Cape May County who participate in the program.
Medical Explorers is a “Learning for Life” career education program for young men and women who are at least 14 years old and in high school, up to 20 years of age and who exhibit an interest in a career in healthcare. Exploring is all about helping young adults make a more informed decision about future careers and determine if a particular career is the right one for them. Exploring leaders volunteer their time to provide real-world career experiences for young adults. Exploring is not about lectures and slide shows – it’s about gaining practical experience in a career field. The result is a program of activities that help youth pursue their special interests, grow, and develop.
“The Medical Explorer’s Program at Cape Regional Medical Center gives our local teens the opportunity to choose a career path earlier in their academic journey,” stated Keith Babore, Program Facilitator at the Medical Center. “This helps set the road-map for their curriculum, enabling them to achieve their healthcare career goals much sooner.
