By Press Release

The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) donated $584 collected from staff and from visitors to the Emlen Physick Estate during the Christmas season in support of the Jersey Cape Military Spouses Club’s annual Stockings for Recruits campaign. Each year, the club collects cash donations used to purchase items to fill Christmas stockings for recruits who are on base at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center (TRACEN) Cape May during Christmas. Recruits undergoing basic training are not permitted to have traditional treats, so stockings are stuffed with permitted items, including socks, hat pins and blousing straps, as well as gift cards for the Coast Guard exchange and local businesses. Each stocking is handmade and over 500 were distributed by the club this year.
