ERMA – Lower Cape May Regional High School in Cape May has been awarded two $5,000 grants through the H&R Block Budget Challenge — a teen financial literacy program that rewards high school classes for mastering real-world budgeting and personal finance decision-making. Lower Cape May Region High School is one of 10 winners nationwide.
“We’re honored to be among the top-performing schools in the country for the H&R Block Budget Challenge,” said Michael Wilson, business teacher at Lower Cape May Regional High School.
Lower Cape May has now been awarded $10,000 in classroom grants through the H&R Block Budget Challenge due to the hard work by both Mr. Wilson and Mr. Pierce’s business students. “To have 16 students receive scholarships in this simulation session is just AWESOME! Many of our students in all our classes placed among the top 1,000 out of more than 22,180 students nationwide,” said Mr. Wilson.
The H&R Block Budget Challenge is free to high school teachers and home school educators. Participants play classroom against classroom and student against student, competing for $3 million in grants, scholarships and cash prizes in the 2014/2015 school year. Three simulations will launch this spring and teacher registration is open at HRBDS.org.
