AVALON – Cape Regional Auxiliary is pleased to announce Loretta Finnegan, M.D. as Honorary Chair of the 2016 Auxiliary Antiques, Art & Collectibles Show and Sale (The Show). The Show will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 27 and 28 at the Avalon Community Center located at 30th Street and the Beach in Avalon. All proceeds from the show will benefit Cape Regional’s Brodesser Cancer Center.
Dr. Finnegan is a well-known and much-loved Avalon resident. She is also Executive Officer of the College on Problems of Drug Dependence and a world-renowned speaker, physician and author who focuses much of her time lecturing and educating in medical communities across the globe about pregnant drug dependent women and their babies who are exposed to drugs while in the womb. Dr. Finnegan moved permanently to her favorite island community and was soon participating in many of Avalon’s various organizations. She loves the many activities and social functions here in Avalon – especially silent auctions!

The Preview Party will be held on Friday, May 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. with wine, cheese, finger foods and great antiques, art and collectibles. Admission to the Preview Party is $40 per person; reservations are recommended but not required.
The Antiques, Art & Collectibles Show and Sale will open Friday, May 27 from 12 noon until 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 28 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.; admission to the Antique Show and Sale is free. The Show will feature over 25 quality dealers from around the Delaware Valley, many new to the show, who will provide a wide assortment of treasures.
Arthur Schwerdt, well-known expert on antiques, will be at the Antique Show on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Mr. Schwerdt will appraise two items for $10. Mr. Schwerdt’s book, “The Antique Story Book” will be available for sale.
