CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The annual Eagles Fly for Leukemia Research Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, Sept. 21 at the Stone Harbor Golf Club, and this year it is co-chaired by local pharmacy owner Scott Reef and his wife Amy Reef of Reef Family Pharmacy in Cape May Court House. This foundation was started over 44 years ago by Stan Lane and former Eagles player Fred Hill, and both men were part of the team that helped start the Ronald MacDonald House. “The funds from this tournament will go toward funding pediatric cancer research and family support for those who have a child in treatment in the Tri-state area,” said Scott Reef. “I encourage any golfer, at any level, to come out and join us for this great cause.”
The tournament kicks off Sept. 21 at 11:30 a.m. at Stone Harbor Golf Club on Route 9 in Middle Township with registration and lunch, then a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Cocktails and a silent auction will be held at 5:30 p.m. with an awards dinner at 7 p.m. Special guests will be present at dinner and it will conclude with a live auction at 8 p.m. “It’s a fun-filled day and the proceeds benefit children,” said Scott. The cost is $325 for individual golfers and it includes greens fees, cart, lunch and dinner.
“Come out and join us for this very important fundraiser that funds pediatric research,” said Reef. Persons interested in golfing or becoming a sponsor, please contact Darlene Clemente at (609) 778-2120, email darleneclemente@comcast.net or sign up online at birdeasepro.com/eaglesflygolf.
