Scarf It Up, a nonprofit group out of North Cape May sponsored by GABLES of Cape May County, donated a variety of handmade blankets, scarves, gloves, hats and headbands to CARA, the Coalition Against Rape of Abuse. These items will be given to the victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as their children, who are in need.
Scarf It Up’s Director, Francesca Gores and Secretary, Carol Ann Link stated, “CARA was one of the many agencies we donated to this year through Cape May County.”
CARA’s Director of Community and Volunteer Relations, Nikki Nichols stated, “CARA is always in need of personal items for our clientele. Whether it is hygiene items or comfort items, these things mean so much to those who may be in a crisis situation, or had to flee an unsafe situation and leave their personal items behind.”
To donate to CARA, please call (609) 522-6489. Items that are always needed include shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, sanitary napkins, tampons, laundry detergent, toilet paper and paper towels.
