Local Masons Reward Scholarships

Cape Island Lodge Masonic Lodge #30 recently awarded eight scholarships to graduating High School Seniors pursuing higher education. The eight recipients were Macie Lynn Kramer, Alyssa Fazio. Madison Dorschutz, Thomas Doherty IV, Shelby Brown, Eve Berger, Christopher Addonizio, and John Keenan Osborne. Totals awards were $ 7000. Macie is gong to St. Joseph’s, Alyssa to Atlantic Cape CC, Madison to Arcadia, Thomas to Penn State, Shelby to Montclair, Eve to Rutgers, Christopher to Rowan.
Cape Island has been giving these scholarships since 1998 through the KEVIN J. WARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND. The awards were presented at the lodge July 27th and followed by a picnic. Charity is one of the principal tenets of Freemasonry and the lodge looks forward to continuing the tradition for many years. Pictured below are the recipients in the order above with their parents behind them. Not pictured is John Keenan Osborne.
