Local 10-Year-Old Donates to Faces 4 Autism

On Tuesday evening

By Gia Gallone

10-year-old Joshua Greenspan of North Wildwood recently donated $50 to Faces 4 Autism, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and supporting children with Autism and their families. Joshua was able to raise the funds on his own through his business, Dude’s Bows.
It all started with Joshua’s love for wearing bow ties. A friend of his mother’s taught Joshua how to make his own bow tie, and he started wearing these custom bow ties almost every day. People started noticing Joshua’s bow ties and wanted one of their own, so Joshua started making them as gifts and eventually started selling them.
Last year before his first selling event, he decided he would donate 50 cents for each bow tie sold between then and the end of 2015 to Faces 4 Autism. At the end of 2015, Joshua had sold 100 bow ties at $1 each, resulting in a $50 donation to Faces 4 Autism. On Tuesday evening, Jan. 12, Joshua and his mother drove up to Faces 4 Autism’s headquarters in Ventnor, NJ and dropped off Joshua’s donation.
Joshua has two more selling events coming up in 2016, the last one being in May, and he plans to donate to Faces 4 Autism once again.
