NFIB Presents Congressman with Honor on Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Frank A. LoBiondo (R-2nd) was recently presented with the “Guardian of Small Business” award by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for his strong voting record on critical business issues in the 111th Congress. NFIB President Dan Danner presented LoBiondo with the award at a ceremony on Capitol Hill last week.
“I am pleased to accept NFIB’s ‘Guardian of Small Business’ award and honored to work with their members in strengthening our local and national economy,” said LoBiondo. “Given that small businesses are the engine of our economy, we must continue to put forth policies that will promote hiring and growth. I remain committed to working with NFIB and its South Jersey members to ensure our emergence from this economic recession and to get people back to work.”
NFIB’s “Guardian of Small Business” award is given each Congress based on rankings given for key business votes. Those members of Congress who support NFIB’s position on at least 70% of those votes receive the award. LoBiondo compiled a 71% score with NFIB this Congress.
“In the 111th Congress, Representative LoBiondo proved that he is a champion of small business. The ‘Guardian of Small Business’ Award is a token of the deep appreciation that small business owners have for elected officials who promote and protect their right to own, operate and grow their businesses,” said Dan Danner, President of NFIB.
NFIB is the leading small business association representing small and independent businesses. A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 1943, NFIB represents the consensus views of its members in Washington and all 50 state capitals. More information is available at www.nfib.org.
