County Sales Hit the Charts
The best possible “response” has been made to continuous inquiries as to why Cape May County was not included in statistics appearing at the back of each issue of New Jersey Realtor magazine.
Co-Star Group, Inc., of Bethesda, Md., which compiles the statistics, used to include all counties except Cape May in its otherwise-very-useful charts.  While the company didn’t respond to specific inquiries about our county’s omission, no mind:  someone has made a pleasing reversal of policy, and the “Quarterly Residential Sales Summary” chart now includes Cape May County.
For third quarter 2005, incidentally, the chart suggests that 426 homes were sold, a rise of 2.16 percent over the prior year, and that the median price was $345,900, a rise of 17.41 percent over the prior year.
While a full assessment of county performance would include the addition of non-MLS statistics to the Co-Star data, what a wonderful new tool the public now has available!
PFR Avalon Sets January Leaders
Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors has announced the January 2006 office leaders for its Avalon office.
Broker Nancy Hovik was recognized for listings.  Licensed since 1983, Hovick is a New Jersey Association of Realtors’ Lifetime Distinguished Sales Club Member, and recipient of the President’s Circle and Chairman’s Circle awards.  She resides in South Dennis.
Pat Jordan was recognized for volume and units.  She is a recipient of the President’s Circle award.
‘Spout Off’ Cited In Parkway Debate
A recent mailing from a group called “Neighbors of Cape May County” urges recipients to contact local, state, and federal officials about potential plans to alter local exits on the Garden State Parkway.
The mailing also refers recipients to the Spout Off section of the Herald’s website for information.
Long a popular feature of the Herald’s print version, the Spout Off section of the website, it seems, now also will serve as an interactive tool for debate, or even just discussion, of county infrastructure issues.
