COURT HOUSE – Cape Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that the Medical Center’s Laboratory has been awarded re-accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
“The Laboratory’s Medical Director, Craig Jurasinski, M.D., was advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the excellence of the services being provided,” stated the press release issued by the College of American Pathologists. “Cape Regional Medical Center Laboratory is one of more than 7,000 CAP-accredited laboratories worldwide,” the release continued.
During the CAP accreditation process, designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients, inspectors examine the laboratory’s records and quality control for the preceding two years’ procedures. CAP inspectors also look at laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety programs and records, and the overall management of the laboratory.
“The team of professionals in the Cape Regional Medical Center Laboratory strives to provide the highest quality of care with attention to detail for each and every test performed,” stated Barbara Moore, Director of Laboratory and Pathology Medicine. “We are very proud of this achievement, and I want to personally thank each member of our staff for their dedication and exceptional care of our patients.”
Cape Regional Medical Center is a member of the Penn Cancer Network and an affiliate of Penn Medicine for Cancer Care, Cardiac Care and Vascular Care.
