COURT HOUSE – Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum’s Chief Operating Officer Bruce A. Fournier recently completed a certificate program in Nonprofit Management offered through La Salle University. The 9 classes offered by La Salle’s Nonprofit Center took just over a year to complete. Mr. Fournier stated, “Although we had a successful 2013 at the museum, there is always room for improvement and personal development. I was fortunate that NASW allowed me to take the classes around my work schedule.”
The Nonprofit Center’s Executive Director, Laura Otten, Ph.D explained that the program in Nonprofit Management is designed to provide individuals a well-balanced knowledge of nonprofit administration and operation. The broad-based curriculum is valuable to new executive directors, senior management or those who wish to refresh their knowledge. Classes included financial management, fundraising, communications and marketing. Laura Otten is recognized as a national expert in numerous aspects of nonprofit management and governance. Bruce Fournier is eager to put the classes to practical use at the Aviation Museum located at the Cape May Airport. “We are in full swing scheduling programming for the 2014 season, from our Runway 5k in June to AirFest and our Swing Dance in September, we hope to have another great season” said Fournier. “We try to keep things fresh and continue to research new exhibits and programs.”
