COURT HOUSE — The Garden State Association of Diabetes Educators (GSADE ) named Cindy Kraemer, manager of The Diabetes Center at Cape Regional Medical Center, “Educator of the Year.”
According to GSADE’s established criteria for Educator of the Year, it is imperative to consider an individual who is actively involved in promoting and conducting quality patient education, while displaying identifiable strengths in creativity, flexibility, quality of care, leadership, and a strong commitment to personal growth and professional involvement.
The nomination, submitted by Diabetes Nurse Educator Patti Birchall, and Diabetes Nurse Educator Kathleen Young, stated, “Cindy Kraemer is a dedicated educator who exceeds expectations in the care of her patients. The entire Diabetes Education Team at Cape Regional Medical Center has proudly nominated her, respect and admires her as a colleague and friend.”
“I am so honored to be nominated by my colleagues at Cape Regional Medical Center for this prestigious award for the State of New Jersey,” stated Kraemer. “I look forward to continuing my work with diabetes in Cape May County.”
Kraemer was appointed Clinical Coordinator for Diabetes Service of Cape Regional Medical Center in 2006. Within five years, she has been instrumental in meeting the needs of the diverse diabetic population of Cape May County including the pediatric patients and the family unit.
Under her leadership, Cape Regional has maintained an Outpatient Certification. This invaluable program meets the needs of the outpatient diabetic population to decrease the risk of complications through individualized and classroom settings along with community outreach programs and support groups.
