In 1957, Robert Kindle and his wife Dorothy had a vision: to transform a closed Ford dealership in Cape May Court House into the kind of successful family business that made a true difference in the community – and that’s just what they did. Today, Kindle is celebrating 60 years of great value, extraordinary service and trustworthy advice in Cape May County.
Kindle’s reliability stems from three generations of family ownership. When it was time for Robert Kindle to retire, his son Bill Kindle took charge. Although he initially went to college in Florida to study Pre-Med, Bill eventually returned to the dealership where he realized his true passion.
“There’s no place I’d rather be than here,” said Bill. “I enjoy all the different people you meet in business. You deal with everybody, and to me, it’s about getting to know these people; and helping them get what they need is the best reward of all.”
Once Bill took over, he ran the business with a team of dedicated employees for over 20 years.
In recent years, Bill’s son, Steven Kindle, has begun to take the reins, initiating the Community Challenge efforts as well as a remodel of the dealership with one primary goal: “To make the lives of our customers better and more convenient.” Steven attended the University of Delaware where he majored in Business Administration, before achieving an MBA in Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University.
The Kindle’s dedication to the community is epitomized in the Community Challenge initiative, which invites the dealership’s incredible family of customers to help deploy thousands of dollars to the local organizations, making the biggest difference in the Cape May County. Throughout the year, Kindle also supports events such as the Coast Guard Community Festival and the Ocean Drive Marathon, and hosts an annual Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic as well as several Red Cross Blood Drives.
Kindle Auto Plaza offers a full lineup of cars, trucks and SUVs that make for an exciting new or used purchase. But Kindle is not your typical car dealership; Kindle holds strong to its commitment to honest pricing. The price you see online is the price you’ll pay. No tricks, no bargaining, just great value.
