CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – On Monday, May 16 at the 6 p.m. meeting, the Middle Township Committee will honor Joyce Weber as the May 2016 Employee of the Month. Weber serves as the Deputy Tax Collector.
“Since we moved the sewer billing to our tax office over four years ago, Joyce has worked tirelessly to clean up what was a big mess and bring all sewer accounts into compliance,” Committeeman Tim Donohue said. “Her hard work has helped us to ensure that the cost of our sewer service is being shared fairly by all customers and that those customers are being billed properly. These efforts will ensure that are sewer rates won’t rise for the foreseeable future.”
“Joyce is very dedicated to her job,” said Sandra Beasley, Middle Township’s Tax Collector. “She takes the initiative and carries out many projects with leadership, professionalism and grace. Joyce has a positive attitude towards co-workers and customers and is a true role model. I appreciate Joyce very much and she is a wonderful person. I am blessed to work with her.”
Weber began her career with Middle Township in May 2005 and states that she enjoys her job because it is “a perfect combination of working with numbers, money and interaction with the public.” A resident of Cape May Court House, Weber has a 17-year-old son, Sean, and two dogs, 15-year-old Junior Mint and 7-month-old Baby Ruth. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, especially camping.
“Joyce manages to strike a perfect balance of professionalism and courtesy,” said Mayor Michael Clark. “Her customer service skills are exemplary, even when it’s not easy, given her position in the Tax Collection Department. Joyce always goes above and beyond to serve residents with a smile.”
The Middle Township Employee of the Month program was initiated by the Township Committee to honor employees who exemplify the Township’s commitment to better delivery of services and going the extra mile for residents. The program culminates with the Darius Graham Employee of the Year honor that is named after one of the Township’s most beloved employees in its history.
Nominations for the Employee of the Month Program are available inside Middle Township hall at three locations: Human Resources and Training Department, Administration Department and on the bulletin board. Residents from the Township who have had a very positive interaction with any Middle Township employee may pick up the one-page nomination form and fill it out in the employee’s behalf. Each month a Township employee will be selected; the winning nominee will receive a certificate at a future Township Committee meeting along with a photograph posted on the bulletin board.
