VILLAS — Domino’s Pizza recently awarded Adelia Jonas with the prestigious title of U.S. Manager of the Year during the company’s 50th Birthday Worldwide Rally Award Ceremony in Las Vegas.
The U.S. Manager of the Year award recognizes exceptional store managers who live the company’s mission and guiding principles. Jonas has been a Domino’s Pizza manager for more than two years in the Villas store owned by Adelia and her husband, franchisee Robert Jonas.
“Adelia Jonas is an outstanding business leader, an excellent trainer and a fantastic person,” said Scott Hinshaw, Domino’s executive vice president of Franchise Operations.
“We are blessed to have such a positive leader who cares so deeply about her customers and her team members. This is a great testimony to Jonas, her team and work ethic and I can’t congratulate her enough.”
In addition to increasing her store’s AWUS (average unit weekly sales) sales by more than 28 percent for two consecutive years, Jonas is dedicated to excellent customer service, her team members and the community that keeps her pizza store thriving.
Jonas came to the United States from Brazil in 2000, speaking very little English and with just $500 in her pocket. Her first job was at a Domino’s Pizza store, where she learned not only how to make pizzas, but how to speak the language.
She and her husband Rob decided to franchise in 2008, by purchasing the store in Villas. In 2009, their single pizza store had positive same store sales every week.
“Being recognized as the U.S. Manager of the Year is such an honor for me, my husband Rob and our team members, who work so hard to serve our customers,” said Jonas. “We are all looking forward to continuing dedicating ourselves to running the best store possible. I am so thankful that I have been able to come to America to live my dream,” she added.
