Joe Tarasevich Honored as Cape Regional’s Difference Maker Volunteer for the Fourth Quarter

By Press Release

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Joe Tarasevich has been named Cape Regional Health System’s Difference Maker Volunteer for the fourth quarter of 2017. His award nominators, staff and fellow volunteers recognized Joe for exemplifying the Health System’s Service Standards of being positive, engaged and proactive.
Since beginning his volunteer service in August 2015, Joe has contributed more than 875 hours of vital service as a year-round Golf Cart Volunteer, providing shuttle service to and from the parking lots and hospital entrances. Joe also often assists as an Errand Volunteer when the need arises. “Joe is always positive and willing to help where needed. He is truly an asset to our volunteer team,” stated Julie Paolella, Director of Volunteer Services. When asked what volunteering means to him, Joe offers, “Everyone thanks me for my service, but I consider it a privilege to volunteer—it is my way of giving back. The people here at Cape Regional are fantastic; it’s like a second home. I felt welcomed from day one.”
Joe is a retired Philadelphia Building Inspector. He also worked for the Philadelphia School Board and was a labor foreman for the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority. Joe lives in Cape May and has two grown daughters, a granddaughter and a grandson. He enjoys deep sea and surf fishing and loves to travel.
During the award presentation, Joanne Carrocino, FACHE, President and CEO, Thomas Piratzky, Executive Director of Cape Regional Foundation and Julie Paolella, Director of Volunteer Services, joined with the award winner’s fellow volunteers and team members in honoring him with the Difference Maker Volunteer Award. Joe was presented with a Difference Maker Volunteer of the Quarter pin, gift card and commemorative plaque.
