COURT HOUSE – Joe Harris, Nurse Aide, husband, father, minister and singer/songwriter was presented with the March Service Excellence Award in a surprise celebration on Progressive Care Unit (PCU) recently.
“Joe Harris is a Nurse Aide who works on PCU. I personally have witnessed Joe counseling and mentoring younger aides in an unbelievably positive fashion, encouraging professional behavior, affirming their roles as significant and that they can reap a lot of personal benefit and sense of satisfaction from being part of the healthcare team,” stated Dr. Michael Boriss. “I have never witnessed an aide take on such responsibility and express that type of energy and positive enthusiasm.”
Joe has been a member of the Cape Regional Medical Center team since November, 2010. He and his wife, Hope, are the proud parents of three children, Brandon, 27, Camille, 5, and Cameron, 6. The family lives in Cape May Court House.
In addition to his full-time work as a Nurse Aide on PCU, Joe is Associate Minister at Christ Gospel Church in Whitesboro, an avid singer/songwriter and producer of gospel/rap through Stay Lit Ministries and also attends college pursuing a career as a Respiratory Therapist.
“Matthew 5:16, ‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is heaven’ – is my personal mission statement,” reflected Harris. “I’m thankful and humbled to be acknowledged in this way by my friends and colleagues. Thank you very much for this honor,” he continued.
