Jody Alessandrine to Direct Cape May’s Leading Cultural and Heritage Tourism Organization in 2020

The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities in Cape May (MAC) announced that after an extensive, national search, Jody Alessandrine, of Town Bank, has been selected as its new director & chief executive officer. His tenure will begin in mid-February.
Alessandrine will succeed B. Michael Zuckerman, who has been at the helm of MAC for 37 years and is retiring early in the new year. The incoming director has extensive experience in the non-profit and for-profit worlds, as well as in local government.
He earned a master’s in Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. Alessandrine served as the executive director of two Special Improvement districts – Toms River, and State College, Pa. – and the inaugural director of the former Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority’s Foundation. He has also served as a municipal administrator and was elected three times to Ocean City Council.
In 2002, Alessandrine was gubernatorially appointed to the board of the New Jersey Historic Trust, where he was the chairman of both its Education Outreach and Nominating committees.

While it’s impossible to fill the shoes per se of a 37-year veteran, I pledge to do my best to build upon Michael’s grand accomplishments, and help make MAC’s next chapter be highlighted by increasing its contributions to the cultural offerings and overall tourism economy of our special area.”
