On Thursday, Oct. 26, Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union’s Social Action Committee presented a check for $700 to Mr. John DiNofrio, President of the Marianne DiNofrio Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation, in memory of Credit Union Pioneer Marianne DiNofrio to help raise awareness and funding for pancreatic cancer research. All five of the credit union’s branches sold candy bars for $1 each.
Mr. DiNofrio stated, “I’m extremely proud of the credit union’s team efforts in selling candy bars for this worthy cause. Many of the credit union’s caring staff and compassionate members from Atlantic and Cape May County graciously purchased candy bars to help make a difference in the fight against pancreatic cancer.”
Pancreatic cancer has risen to the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States today; and only 8 percent of Americans with pancreatic cancer survive 5 or more years. The foundation and its members, whose hearts have been touched by this illness, are firm in the belief that awareness and understanding of pancreatic cancer through research and dedicated programs are crucial to saving precious lives.
A sincere thank you is extended to the members and staff of Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union.
