It’s Christmas in July…for Five Mile Beach Boaters

By Al Campbell

NORTH WILDWOOD — Temperatures might have soared into the 90s through the day, and the humidity was close behind, but it was still Christmas in July whenthe sun set, and the decorated boats filled the back bays of North Wildwood and Wildwood on Saturday night.
Huge crowds gathered along the waterfront from Sunset Bay Restaurant, where the paraed began, to Lighthouse Pointe, where a gala party marked the conclusion of the parade.
There was Santa and all sorts of elves. In another boat, a string band, and in still another a brigade of bagpipes, which drew a rousing round of applause from the North Wildwood observers.
See Wednesday’s Herald print edition for more photos and update on the parade.
