CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Representatives Bill and Christine Salerno of Holly Shores Camping Resort in Lower Township recently presented a $1,500 donation to Jacqueline Meiluta, Executive Director of Volunteers in Medicine of South Jersey to support the organization in providing high-quality health care service to community members in need.
“With the rising cost of health care coverage, there is an increasing number of people throughout our community who are not able to afford their basic health care needs,” said Maggy Robinson, co-owner of Holly Shores Camping Resort. “We support Volunteers in Medicine because what they do is so essential to keeping our community healthy and happy – providing quality health care services to those without insurance or who cannot afford it.”
“We truly appreciate this generous donation,” said Meiluta. “Holly Shores Camping Resort has been a true friend of VIM since the day we opened in 2002.The medically underserved in our community struggle daily with the tough choices such as putting food on the table, transportation costs for work and health care. With Holly Shores’ support, we are committed to making this choice a little easier.”
Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) is a free medical clinic serving low-income residents of Cape May County with limited access to health insurance. It is run by volunteer physicians, nurses and administrative professionals and is supported by donations.
