Historic Village Gets Grant From CapeBank

By Herald Staff

COLD SPRING — The CapeBank Charitable Foundation has given a $7,000 grant to Historic Cold Spring Village, a non-profit educational institution, in support of three annual educational programs.
The village is a recreation of a 19th Century South Jersey farm village. It teaches through craft demonstrations, live enactments, exhibits and more, according to a release.
The educational programs allow teachers to give students a hands-on historical experience outside of the classroom.
“We think engaging students in a cultural experience outside of the classroom is an important element of learning,” said Robert Garrett, president of the CapeBank Charitable Foundation. “We hope this donation allows the Historic Cold Spring Village to continue bringing an historical experience to students in South Jersey.”
