WOODBINE — Mayor William Pikolycky is pleased to announce that the Greater Woodbine Chamber of Commerce, at their Dec. 12 reorganization dinner, presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to Karen DeRosa, Director of Community Development for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Atlantic and Cape May Counties. This donation was the result of the Chamber’s annual Car Show which was held in October.
CASA recruits, trains and coaches community volunteers who advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in our community. CASA advocates visits with the children and their families and have access to everyone involved in the child’s life. Armed with that information, the advocates write court reports directly to the family court judge with recommendations for services and resources that are in the child’s best interests.
Chamber officers sworn in at the meeting were President Lisa Fisher, Vice President Chet Dovidio, Secretary Carol Saduk and Treasurer Chris Hayes.
“We express our appreciation to the chamber for its work in the borough’s business community and its donation to CASA and their important, worthwhile work,” added Mayor Pikolycky.
