Grateful Patient Leaves Legacy at Cape Regional

COURT HOUSE – Cape Regional Medical Center (CRMC) celebrated the Grand Opening of the newly-renovated Infusion Therapy Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and Open House on Thu., Oct. 27, 2011. The Infusion Therapy Center is located on the first floor of the Medical Center accessible from the South Lobby.
Dr. Robert Salasin cut the ribbon along with Dr. Richard Michner, President of the Medical Staff, Arlene MacDonald, Foundation Board Member, Joanne Carrocino, President & CEO, CRMC, Nanci Royal, RN, Director of Surgical Services and Donna Mack-Alston, RN, Infusion Therapy Center.
“The generosity of Mr. James Piano made the renovation of the Infusion Therapy Center a reality,” stated Joanne Carrocino, FACHE, President and CEO of Cape Regional Medical Center. “Mr. Piano’s gift of $100,000 was given to expand, modernize and make the Center more comfortable for the patients and staff. Mr. Piano spent many days receiving care in the Infusion Therapy Center and wanted to say ‘thank you’ to the many friends he made while undergoing his treatments. We are extremely grateful to him for his commitment to Cape Regional Medical Center. Although sadly Mr. Piano has now passed away, the Center stands as a tribute to him and his beloved wife, Marie.”
The Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation was established in 1999 and is dedicated to raising philanthropic support and community involvement in support of Cape Regional Medical Center.
