Gosin Receives Shore’s Surgical Chairman’s Award

By Herald Staff

SOMERS POINT — Dr. Stephen Gosin has been named the recipient of the 2010 Shore Memorial Hospital Surgical Chairman’s Award in recognition of his role as a surgical leader for the region at the second annual Shore Memorial Surgical Symposium held March 20 at Greate Bay Country Club.
The award honored Gosin for his professional conduct, dedication, positive impact, his moral and ethical status and his service as a role model to all health care professionals during four decades of service to Shore Memorial Hospital.
Gosin first joined Shore Memorial Hospital’s medical staff in 1969. During his 40-plus years at the hospital he has worn many hats, including Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Director and Founder of the hospital’s Division of Vascular Surgery and president of the hospital’s medical staff. In 1985 he founded the region’s first non-invasive vascular laboratory at Shore Memorial.
Gosin, who resides in Mays Landing, is also in private practice with his son, Dr. Jeffrey Gosin, with the Jersey Shore Surgical Group in Somers Point.
“It’s a very satisfying kind of relationship to work together as surgical colleagues,” Gosin said of working with his son. “We often get to operate together on some of our more challenging and complex cases.”.
