Golf Tournament Raises More Than $41,555 for Atlantic Cape Students

MAYS LANDING—The 2017 Atlantic Cape Community College Scramble “Fore” Scholarships golf tournament raised more than $41,555 for student aid and Foundation operations. Held Oct. 13 at Cape May National Golf Club in Cape May, the tournament drew nearly 100 players.

Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarships for students attending Atlantic Cape and for Foundation operations. Golf tournament sponsors included Cape May National Golf Club, Chalfonte Hotel, Crest Wealth Management, OceanFirst Bank, Ameriprise Financial, McMahon Insurance Agency, Borden Perlman Salisbury & Kelly, CASA Payroll Services, Cooper Levenson Attorneys at Law, Tropicana Casino & Resort Atlantic City, Chris Clemans Sotheby’s International Realty and UNIVEST Bank & Trust. Media sponsors for the event were Cape May County Herald and Coastal Broadcasting.

Atlantic Cape established the Foundation in 1978 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity to build a broad base of financial support for its programs and services. The Foundation has raised more than $5 million for scholarships, Foundation operations and to enhance academic programs and the campus environment. Comprised of prominent area business and civic leaders who volunteer their time and resources serving as the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, the Foundation committed more than $500,000 in scholarships in 2017 alone.
